Dr. Richard F. Caruso is a board-certified gastroenterologist and the Medical Director of Seaside Endoscopy Pavilion in Lewes, Delaware. For more than 30 years, Dr. Caruso has been dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality gastrointestinal care to the southern Delaware community.

Dr. Caruso earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease at Lankenau Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Gastroenterology and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.

A long-standing member of the medical community, Dr. Caruso has served in multiple leadership roles, including Chief of the Gastroenterology Department and member of the Medical Executive and Pharmacy Committees at his affiliated hospital. His peers have recognized him as “Doctor of the Year” and one of Delaware’s “Top Docs.” He was also appointed as governor of the American Academy of Gastroenterology, Board of Governors, representing Delaware.

At Seaside Endoscopy Pavilion, Dr. Caruso leads a team committed to excellence in endoscopic procedures, patient safety, and personalized care. He takes pride in ensuring every patient receives attentive, respectful, and evidence-based treatment in a comfortable outpatient setting.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Caruso enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and staying active in the Lewes community.
